The Student Engagement and Belonging Initiative, led by the Division of Student Life, helps remove financial barriers that can prevent students from fully participating in campus life - ensuring more students have access to the experiences that shape their sense of connection and belonging.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, students are able to take part in meaningful experiences that stay with them long after graduation. While we strive to make every opportunity accessible, additional costs can still place these moments out of reach for some. A gift to the Division of Student Life Excellence Fund helps close that gap.

"Receiving support allowed me to participate in SCU’s Peru Immersion program - an opportunity I would not have been able to afford otherwise. This experience was deeply meaningful both academically and personally. Being immersed in a different cultural and social context expanded my understanding of global communities, strengthened my intercultural communication skills, and challenged me to reflect more critically on issues of equity and service. Beyond the academic component, the experience allowed me to build lasting relationships with people from SCU and Peru, and it strengthened my sense of belonging at SCU. The grant removed a significant financial barrier and allowed me to fully engage in a transformative opportunity without the stress of added financial strain.
