Building a Resilient, Healthy, and Supportive Community
Health Promotion is vital to creating a campus where students can thrive. Based in the Cowell Center, the student health and well-being team helps prevent challenges before they become crises, supporting the growth of a resilient and healthy community.
With your support, we can expand key initiatives that empower students with lifelong skills, including:
- Well-being workshops on stress management, sleep, and time management
- Mental health awareness campaigns and suicide prevention training
- Self-screening tools that connect students to campus resources
- Well-being resource fairs and nutrition education
- Substance use prevention programs
A cornerstone of this work is our Peer Health Educators (PHEs) - student leaders who foster healthy living through education, outreach, and community engagement. PHEs lead impactful programs focused on mental health, burnout prevention, substance use awareness, and overall well-being.
Signature initiatives include:
- Goat Yoga, promoting mindfulness and stress relief
- Bark N Brew, creating space for connection and relaxation with therapy dogs
- Walk for Hope, raising awareness and supporting suicide prevention efforts
Through these programs, students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for themselves and support others, helping to create a culture of compassion and belonging across campus.
Your gift makes a difference. It expands access to essential programs, strengthens peer leadership, and ensures more students benefit from meaningful well-being resources throughout their college experience. Together, we can build a healthier, more resilient campus community.
