Support the University library
Where Knowledge Uplifts Justice, Compassion, and the Common Good
At the Santa Clara University Library, our mission is to engage our community to discern, create, and apply knowledge in service of a better world. In 2025, we launched a new strategic plan in alignment with this mission. Over the next five years we will develop new initiatives and approaches to strengthen our scholarly community, innovate our information literacy instruction, transform our digital presence, assess the library’s impact, and optimize our organization.
This strategic work will build on our success as a central hub and trusted partner, serving the entire SCU community. Over the past year we have:
- Taught over 300 information literacy sessions in courses across disciplines
- Hosted workshops to support faculty and student research skills
- Celebrated the work of students and faculty through events and initiatives such as the Library Undergraduate Research Award and Faculty New Publications Reception
- Held events that foster a sense of community and belonging, including International Student Game Night, author talks, and de-stress activities during finals week
- Provided safe and welcoming space for students to study and collaborate, 121 hours per week.
As we as a society grapple with misinformation, access to quality information, and an increasingly complex research environment, the role of the University Library is more critical than ever. Ultimately, your gift will support us in achieving our vision to help shape a future where knowledge uplifts justice, compassion, and the common good. We can’t thank you enough for joining us in this endeavor!
