Where Art Meets Community: The Magic of SCU Presents
SCU Presents serves as the cultural heart of Santa Clara University, bringing the performing arts to life through the Music, Theater, and Dance departments. We believe that the arts are essential to the Jesuit tradition of educating the whole person—fostering empathy, sparking dialogue, and celebrating the human spirit.
This year, we are bringing back the Arts for Social Justice program which provides opportunities to bring together students, artists, and the SCU community to collaborate, explore, develop, and present performing and visual art that will effect change in our global community. The goal of Arts for Social Justice at Santa Clara University is to raise awareness, consciously engage SCU students in human issues, understand social and cultural differences through the lens of the arts, and foster dialogue and action in the community.
At the heart of our Arts for Social Justice Program is the belief that “It is not enough to be compassionate; you must act.” We look forward to continuing this bold and exciting endeavor to bring art into the Santa Clara community to affect positive social change.
Your support this Giving Day ensures that our stages remain a vibrant laboratory for student creativity. By making a gift, you help us keep the arts accessible, vibrant, and transformative for our students and the entire South Bay community.
