Celebrate Filipino Culture at SCU
Barkada, meaning “a group of friends,” is Santa Clara University’s Filipino cultural organization committed to fostering community, cultural pride, and leadership development. We create spaces where students feel a deep sense of belonging while celebrating traditional and contemporary Filipino heritage. Through intentional programming and large-scale cultural events, Barkada empowers students to lead with confidence, identity, and connection.
Your gift directly supports:
● BPCN (Barkada Pilipino Culture Night) — our premier cultural showcase celebrating Filipino storytelling, dance, and performance
● KAA (Kuya Ate Ading) — a mentorship program that builds lasting, family-style support systems
● Friendship Games and community events that strengthen intercollegiate and campus-wide relationships
● Student leadership development and cultural programming resources
Barkada is more than an organization — it is a home for students navigating identity, leadership, and community during their college years.
"Stepping onto the BPCN stage after months of preparation, surrounded by my closest friends, was unforgettable. In that moment, I realized Barkada wasn’t just a club — it was family." — Alex Ruelos, Co-Chair (Management Major, MIS Minor, 2027)
"Through KAA, I experienced mentorship and belonging in a way I never had before. Barkada gave me a family and the opportunity to become that support for others." — Monica Reyes, Co-Chair (CSEN Major, COMM Minor, 2027)
When you give to Barkada, you invest in cultural visibility, student leadership, and a lasting sense of belonging for current and future Broncos. Join us in strengthening a community rooted in culture, connection, and pride.
