Support Your Latino Dance Community at SCU!
As SCU Ballet Folklórico, we stand in solidarity with our Latino community. Our theme this year, Bajo El Mismo Sol, reflects our belief that no matter our background or status, we all share the same humanity, dignity, and right to feel safe and valued. Through dance, we honor our ancestors, uplift our families, and celebrate the resilience that defines us.
"I struggled finding people who shared the same passions as me, but through ballet folklorico, 1 was able to find those people who share a passion for dance and connecting with their culture"- Sophie Perez, Class of 2029, First year dancing!
Your support makes this possible. Donations directly fund shoes and costumes for new members and allow us to expand our wardrobe to represent more regions of Mexico, ensuring broader and more authentic cultural representation. Contributions also help bring our annual Culture Show to life, making it brighter, more dynamic, and an unforgettable experience for the entire SCU community.
"To me, Ballet Folklorico means friendship. I was able to make some of my closest friends through dance, and I will be forever grateful for them." - Jackelyn Diaz, Class of 2028, Danced for 2 years!
"It's not just a home...but a stage for cultural appreciation and relationship building" - Sean Tsang, Class of 2026, Danced for 4 years!
By donating, you are not only supporting a performance organization, but you are also investing in students who enjoy and appreciate culture, community, and the preservation of tradition.
