Women’s Cross Country / Track & Field
Santa Clara Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field continues to build a strong tradition of distance running excellence while developing student-athletes who exemplify the discipline, resilience, and commitment that define Bronco Athletics.
The Broncos are coming off a strong 2025 cross country season, finishing 21st at the NCAA West Regional, a significant improvement from their 27th-place finish the previous year. Junior Milaina Almonte led the way, becoming the program’s first NCAA All-Region honoree in 16 years while also earning All-WCC honors at the West Coast Conference Championships. That momentum has continued into the outdoor track & field season, where the Broncos have posted strong early performances, including a first-place finish in the 3,000 meters at the Golden Gate Track Fest and a winning performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, highlighted by a personal record from Almonte.
The program also continues to demonstrate excellence in the classroom. For eight consecutive years, the Broncos have had at least five student-athletes named to the WCC All-Academic team, reflecting the program’s commitment to academic achievement alongside athletic success.
The dedication required to succeed in distance running builds leadership, perseverance, and discipline—qualities that prepare Santa Clara student-athletes to succeed long after their competitive careers. Your support helps ensure the continued growth and success of Santa Clara Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field and the student-athletes who proudly represent the Broncos.
