Men’s Water Polo

Santa Clara Men’s Water Polo continues to compete at a high level nationally while developing student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in competition, the classroom, and throughout the Bronco community.

The Broncos continue to build momentum within one of the nation’s most competitive water polo landscapes and have become a fixture in the national Top 25 rankings, finishing No. 17 in the country this season. Two Santa Clara student-athletes earned All-America honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, extending the program’s streak of multiple All-America selections each year since 2023. The team also had four players earn All-West Coast Conference recognition, including a First Team honoree for the third consecutive season, highlighting the program’s sustained competitive success.

Santa Clara has also strengthened its coaching staff with the addition of Olympic medalist, World Champion, and former Hungarian National Team member Viktor Nagy, whose experience competing at the highest levels of international water polo will further elevate the program and its player development.

The Broncos also continue to excel academically, with eight student-athletes earning West Coast Conference All-Academic recognition, reflecting the program’s commitment to success both in the pool and in the classroom.

• Specialized Equipment and Facility Access: Funding is essential for maintaining and upgrading the specialized pool facilities, and for purchasing and replacing high-quality equipment (balls, caps, goals) necessary for safe and effective training and competition.
• Recruitment and Travel: Financial contributions enable the program to offer competitive scholarships to attract high-caliber domestic and international talent and cover necessary travel expenses for competitive non-conference and conference play across the West Coast.
• Developing Resilient Student-Athletes: Water polo is a physically and mentally demanding sport that instills teamwork, endurance, and resilience. Support ensures access to specialized coaching, strength and conditioning, and academic resources to help athletes manage their rigorous schedules.
